• Role: Principal Data Scientist (ecosystem measurement for AI-powered consumer experiences)

Description

Lead ecosystem-level measurement strategy across AI products, defining metrics, experimentation frameworks, and measurement systems that guide how AI evaluates success and supports investment decisions. You will conduct ecosystem-level analyses, experimentation, and causal inference to quantify impact, uncover opportunities, and influence product and business outcomes. You’ll also define and evolve “North Star” metrics and help align leaders through scientific rigor and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Define measurement strategy, metrics, and decision frameworks across the AI ecosystem.

• Lead ecosystem-level analyses, experimentation, and causal inference.

• Partner with product, engineering, business, and executive teams to shape strategy, roadmap priorities, and resource allocation.

• Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and market dynamics before they show up in product-level metrics.

• Design and evolve North Star metrics and evaluation systems for user value, business impact, and long-term ecosystem health.

• Drive alignment across organizations through influence, rigor, and trusted partnerships.

• Raise the bar for analytical excellence through technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices in measurement and experimentation.

Requirements

• Doctorate with 3+ years, or Master’s with 5+ years, or Bachelor’s with 7+ years in a relevant field; or equivalent experience.

• 6+ years of programming experience in Python, R, C++, Java, C#, or similar languages.

• Demonstrated expertise in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, and large-scale data analysis.

• Experience developing metrics, evaluation frameworks, and measurement systems that drive product and business decisions.

• Proven ability to identify high-impact opportunities and solve complex, ambiguous problems across multiple organizations.

• Experience influencing product strategy and aligning stakeholders with differing objectives using data-driven insights.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive and non-technical audiences.

• Experience leading large cross-functional initiatives and collaborating effectively without direct authority.

Benefits

• Base pay range (U.S.): USD $142,800–$274,800 per year; different ranges apply for specific locations (San Francisco Bay Area and NYC metro: USD $188,000–$304,200).
