Description

Manual QA Engineer focused on testing a web platform and its APIs. You will design, run, and maintain manual test cases across functional, regression, negative-path, and exploratory testing, including stateful multi-step workflows. You’ll also use AI tools to speed up test preparation and verification of asynchronous, webhook-driven outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Test assigned features and fixes against acceptance criteria using functional, regression, negative-path, and exploratory testing

• Design, maintain, and run test cases in the test management tool for your product areas

• Use AI tools to speed up test preparation and exploration of new flows

• Assess how configuration changes affect existing records and new flows

• Verify asynchronous and webhook-driven outcomes (notifications, status updates, integration callbacks)

• Support feature-parity testing when functionality is refactored or moved between tools

• Run pre-release regression testing and flag risk areas

• Write reproducible bug reports, verify fixes, and close the loop with developers

• Participate in release smoke testing on staging and production

• Review requirements and designs early with product and engineering

• Maintain up-to-date test documentation and deep knowledge of product areas

• Identify test cases that are good candidates for automation

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on manual QA experience on complex web applications

• Independent test case design across functional, regression, negative-path, and exploratory testing

• Experience with Testiny, TestRail, Xray, or similar test management tools

• Experience filing clear, reproducible bug reports in Jira, Linear, or similar trackers

• API testing experience with Postman or similar tools

• Basic SQL for verifying data directly in the database

• Experience testing stateful, multi-step workflows and the effect of configuration changes on existing records

• Risk-based approach to deciding where testing should go deep vs. stay light

• Practical, critical use of AI tools in testing (from drafting test cases to judging claims about self-healing/agentic testing)

• Working knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform, and mobile testing
