Description

You’ll join experienced engineers to learn how to build and operate production data-platform services and pipelines. The work focuses on event ingestion into BigQuery, schema contracts and evolution, data-quality and freshness SLAs, data governance and GDPR-related data lifecycle processes, and metadata capabilities. This role is designed to help you grow into software engineering for enterprise-scale data platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain parts of production data pipelines, services, and internal tooling
  • Learn and work with BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), GCS, and other Google Cloud Platform services
  • Help implement ingestion, validation, data-quality checks, monitoring, alerts, and operational automation
  • Work with structured, semi-structured, and event data using Avro, Protobuf, Parquet, JSON, and CSV
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, incident follow-ups, and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders to understand how data products are used

Requirements

  • Commercial experience in Python, Java, or Kotlin
  • Basic ability to write clean, tested code and eagerness to learn modern software engineering practices
  • Solid SQL fundamentals
  • Basic understanding of data modeling, relational databases, APIs, and common data formats (JSON, CSV, Avro, Parquet)
  • Interest in cloud platforms, distributed systems, and data processing at scale
  • Ability to diagnose problems systematically, ask good questions, and learn actively from feedback
  • English at B2 level or higher
