Description

You will work with experienced engineers on production data-platform services and pipelines. You will help build foundations that make data reliable, discoverable, governed, and usable at scale, including event ingestion into BigQuery, schema contracts and evolution, data quality and freshness SLAs, and data governance/GDPR-related data lifecycle processes. The role is designed to grow beyond business reporting and analytical transformations into enterprise-scale software engineering for shared data-platform products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain parts of production data pipelines, services, and internal tooling

  • Learn and work with BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), and GCS (Google Cloud Platform)

  • Implement data ingestion, validation, data-quality checks, monitoring, alerts, and operational automation

  • Work with structured, semi-structured, and event data using Avro, Protobuf, Parquet, JSON, and CSV

  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, incident follow-ups, and documentation

  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders on how data products are used

Requirements

  • Commercial experience in Python, Java, or Kotlin

  • Basic ability to write clean, tested code and eagerness to learn modern software engineering practices

  • Solid SQL fundamentals

  • Basic understanding of data modeling and relational databases

  • Basic understanding of APIs

  • Basic understanding of common data formats (JSON, CSV, Avro, Parquet)

  • Interest in cloud platforms, distributed systems, and data processing at scale

  • Ability to diagnose problems systematically, ask good questions, and learn from feedback

  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
