Description

You will lead a small, local team and stay deeply technical while supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of a large, global Kubernetes platform used by internal teams. The work focuses on evolving platform engineering from classic DevOps toward automation, reliability, and reduced manual operations—covering automation, upgrades, observability/self-healing, and production troubleshooting. You will also provide technical support for developers and collaborate with global engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end engineering and lifecycle management of the Kubernetes platform

  • Develop tools and automation for infrastructure and service management

  • Automate recurring operational (BAU) processes

  • Improve Platform Operations and the way the platform is managed

  • Increase reliability and quality of environments

  • Improve Kubernetes cluster and service upgrade processes

  • Monitor and optimize performance and resource utilization; capacity planning

  • Build dashboards and observability solutions; implement self-healing mechanisms

  • Troubleshoot production environments and detect problems

  • Provide technical support to developer teams; participate in system design and platform management consultations

  • Support and coordinate a local 5-person team; collaborate with a global Team Lead and other locations

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Kubernetes administration, especially in production

  • Very strong Kubernetes knowledge plus containerization and the K8s ecosystem

  • Experience with Istio, Ingress, Cilium, and CSI/container storage

  • Very strong Linux knowledge (filesystem and networking)

  • Experience managing and maintaining production environments

  • Ability to automate infrastructure using Python and/or Golang and Bash

  • Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, and Git

  • Observability tools knowledge (e.g., Splunk, Datadog)

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes

  • Experience troubleshooting infrastructure performance, reliability, and availability

  • Experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers

  • Excellent communication and ability to work in a global environment

  • English for business communication
