Description

You will plan and implement customer projects across firewalls, WLAN, switching, and security. You’ll advise on complex network architectures for core and edge environments, support managed-service operations, and run on-premises and cloud network landscapes. The role includes network/firewall analysis with troubleshooting and performance optimization, plus development of security measures and creation of technical documentation and architecture concepts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver customer projects related to firewalls, WLAN, switching, and security
• Advise on the design of complex network architectures in core and edge environments
• Support the managed-service team for operations at customer XaaS environments
• Operate and further develop modern network landscapes on-premises and in the cloud
• Analyze networks and firewalls including troubleshooting and performance optimization
• Develop security measures for business-critical customer processes
• Create technical documentation, architecture concepts, and project documentation
• Work closely with project management, sales, customers, and internal specialist teams

Requirements

• Completed IT training or degree (e.g., Fachinformatik Systemintegration or comparable)
• Several years of experience in network and firewall environments
• Practical experience with vendors such as Cisco, HPE Networking, or Fortinet
• Knowledge of firewall solutions such as Sophos or Barracuda
• Experience with cloud and on-prem management platforms from vendors
• Security background (e.g., NAC) plus experience with network design and architecture
• Ideally vendor certifications
• Structured, independent working style, team spirit, and strong customer orientation
• Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form for customer communication and technical documentation
