Description

Develop the embedded software that powers devices—writing the on-device program based on project requirements and prototypes provided by hardware colleagues. You may also contribute documentation and test procedures, and once things work, you can follow the path from development to production. The role benefits from Linux experience and interest in the full stack from low-level to web/backend components.

Responsibilities

• Receive project assignments (e.g., sending sensor data to a server)

• Use partially built hardware prototypes and communicate with the device accordingly

• Implement embedded software for the target device, independently or with strong team support

• Collaborate with experienced colleagues on the development process

• Create documentation and testing procedures

• Track and support devices as they move into production

Requirements

• Linux knowledge for embedded/“small” devices (e.g., Raspberry Pi or OpenWrt)

• Experience with embedded Linux (low-level such as kernel/device tree or application development such as Python/C++)

• Interest in embedded microcontrollers in C (helpful; not required)

• Plus: frontend/backend skills and basic web-service understanding (JS/TS/React, REST, MQTT/HTTP, databases)

• Hands-on interest in hardware, schematics, and lab tools (e.g., oscilloscope)
