Description

Build system-level software for embedded Linux controllers that manage connectivity, telemetry, and OTA updates for energy and charging products. Own work spanning bootloaders, board bring-up, driver porting, and build/packaging integration, while defining new hardware requirements and partnering with cross-functional teams. Strong C skills and excellent debugging ability are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality system-level software for embedded Linux controllers (connectivity, telemetry, OTA updates)
  • Develop bootloaders, perform board bring-up, and port drivers for new hardware enablement
  • Integrate software components via packaging and build systems
  • Define new hardware requirements
  • Collaborate with Hardware, Applications, QA, Validation, and Manufacturing teams
  • Work with validation teams to create test strategies and test plans

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience building, debugging, and shipping embedded systems using Linux
  • System software experience on embedded Linux for connectivity, telemetry, and OTA update management
  • Comfortable debugging hardware issues
  • Familiar with SoC-level software development (ARM Cortex-A, PowerPC, x86, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret system schematics
  • Proficient in C and/or C++
  • Working knowledge of CAN, RS-485, ModBus, and Ethernet
  • Working knowledge of WiFi, ZigBee, Thread, BLE, and LTE
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux security fundamentals (secure boot, PKI, hardware key storage)
  • Ability to write and understand technical specifications
