Description

Analyze threats in network traffic, identify attack attempts, and implement detection mechanisms with automated, appropriate remediation. Configure and optimize IDS/IPS, WAF, and Anti-DDoS solutions. Build and evolve incident-response automation (scripts, playbooks, integrations), apply virtual patching to reduce vulnerability risk without touching application source code, and provide technical recommendations and documentation for infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze network traffic threats and identify attempts at attacks

• Implement detection and automated remediation mechanisms

• Implement, configure, and optimize IDS/IPS, WAF, and Anti-DDoS solutions

• Create and develop incident-response automation (scripts, playbooks, integrations)

• Use virtual patching techniques to reduce vulnerability risk without modifying application source code

• Prepare technical instructions and recommendations for infrastructure teams

• Maintain ongoing technical documentation and support resilience reviews and testing

Requirements

• Knowledge of firewall and WAF systems and their configuration principles in hybrid environments (VMware/Azure/GCP)

• Knowledge of incident response techniques for network incidents and ability to create and test security policies

• Experience detecting and analyzing network attacks

• Ability to create incident-response automation (e.g., Python or shell)

• Understanding of vulnerability lifecycle and mitigation methods without interfering with application infrastructure code

• Practical knowledge of computer networking (TCP/IP, OSI layers, routing, switching) and network traffic security

• Additional asset: Linux/Unix experience; knowledge of segmentation, access control, cryptographic techniques, and VPN

• Valued: CEH, MAD, or similar certifications
