Description

You will build and maintain backend services and APIs that enable agent and tool registration, metadata management, discovery capabilities, and governance workflows. The role includes integrating with AWS AgentCore Registry, designing registry/catalog data models, and implementing secure authentication and authorization. You’ll work with platform engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs for agent and tool registration workflows

• Integrate with AWS AgentCore Registry and related metadata APIs

• Design and maintain data models for agents, tools, and lifecycle management

• Build CRUD APIs for create, update, retrieve, list, and delete of registry records

• Implement input validation, schema enforcement, and API security controls

• Develop authentication and authorization using JWT or OAuth

• Support metadata governance, lifecycle management, and discovery capabilities

• Contribute technical documentation and API specifications

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• 3+ years of Python backend development

• Hands-on experience with AWS AgentCore Registry or comparable registry/discovery platform

• REST API development with validation, schema enforcement, and secure design

• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent

• Data modeling experience for registry/catalog/metadata/discovery systems

• JWT or OAuth-based API authentication experience

• Knowledge of API lifecycle management and governance concepts

• Experience with relational or NoSQL data stores

• Agile teamwork experience
