Description

You will help define the long-term technology direction of a new platform that connects services across Air Bank and partners. You act as the highest technical authority, owning the target architecture, key technical decisions, and the standards used by internal and partner teams. You will lead technically (not people management), mentor engineers, and ensure high-quality, secure, and sustainable software, including safe AI usage rules.

Responsibilities

• Design and long-term evolve the target architecture for the platform (distributed systems, microservices, API-first, event architecture, cloud, transaction and customer data)

• Make and align key technical decisions by evaluating options, benefits/risks, and long-term impacts; ensure consistency across teams

• Set technical standards for service design, coding practices, code review, development processes, security, observability, and operational readiness

• Provide technical guidance to the development team via mentoring and feedback across backend, frontend, mobile, and test automation teams

• Oversee quality and operations: performance, scalability, availability, security, technical debt, cloud costs, and define metrics and SLOs

• Define rules for safe AI usage in development, architecture, code review, and documentation

Requirements

• Experience designing and long-term evolving the architecture of a complex production system

• Orientation in distributed systems, microservices, API-first, and event-driven architecture

• Knowledge of event sourcing, idempotence, eventual consistency, and/or distributed transactions

• Practical foundation in Java or Kotlin and knowledge of the Spring Boot ecosystem

• Orientation in cloud, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and operations of modern applications

• Security, observability, performance, and availability considered already at design time

• Experience with technical leadership, mentoring, or setting engineering standards

• Ability to explain complex technical topics to developers, management, and business stakeholders

• Ability to defend decisions and adapt when new information emerges

• Active use of AI tools and thinking about safe usage rules

• Ability to see the system as a whole and take responsibility for long-term technical direction
