Solution Architect

Role and Responsibilities

As a Solution Architect, you will be a technical leader and visionary in the Innovation Tribe.

Design Cloud-Native Architectures

• Define end-to-end technology architecture for solutions, focusing on scalable, secure Azure-based cloud applications aligned with product design and business goals.

Lead Innovation from Ideation to Delivery

• Drive opportunities from concept and Proof of Concept (PoC) through full product delivery.
• Provide technical leadership during ideation, prototyping and implementation, leveraging Azure cloud services for rapid deployment and testing.

Multi-Domain Integration

• Integrate data architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure and DLT (blockchain) to create cohesive solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, platform architects and business analysts to ensure data pipelines, API services, cloud resources and blockchain nodes fit together seamlessly.

Technical Partnership and Advisory

• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Guide business teams on using cloud and emerging technology during exploratory phases.

Influence and Collaboration

• Influence architecture decisions across teams and tribes in ambiguous or evolving environments.
• Ensure solution designs align with enterprise standards and industry best practices, coordinating with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects for consistency.
• Facilitate design workshops and architecture boards to gain buy-in.

Overcome Complex Challenges

• Remove technical blockers and solve complex problems spanning legacy and modern systems.
• Manage multiple priorities pragmatically, applying an 80/20 approach when needed.

Technology Evangelism

• Assess the benefits and risks of emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
• Articulate the potential of blockchain/DLT for post-trade processes and cloud-native architecture for reducing time-to-market.

Continuous Innovation and Trend Monitoring

• Monitor industry trends, new tools and key players in fintech and cloud computing.
• Identify opportunities and threats, including new Azure services, fintech API standards, competitors and evolving security risks, and recommend strategic technical directions.

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience leading architecture for complex cloud applications or migrations, including cloud services, deployment models, high availability and security best practices.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, API design and integration, and cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of data pipelines, storage design, RESTful and event-driven APIs, and their use in solution designs.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and containerization.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for scalable, resilient service deployment.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF, and Agile delivery models.
• Ability to balance long-term architecture vision with iterative Agile delivery.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, conceptual and creative thinking.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder-influencing and technical leadership skills; able to explain complex concepts in business terms and mentor development teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, manage changing priorities and remove blockers.

Additional Assets

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
• Knowledge of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), blockchain, AI, machine learning and API ecosystems.
• Knowledge of post-trade financial market infrastructure, including CSD, settlement and custody systems.
• Experience with large-scale digital transformation in the financial industry.

Teams deliver new IT solutions and improve existing applications for internal and external clients, deploy controlled production changes without compromising stability, and provide application production support.
