Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin) - Card Systems

Description

Build and operate backend systems for cards—card creation, payments, lifecycle, and Apple/Google Pay—plus related capabilities such as cryptocurrency mediation. The stack follows Clean Architecture and contract-first approaches, with reactive-style development and emphasis on backward compatibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services in Kotlin on the Micronaut framework
• Work with microservices, REST, messaging, and databases (ORM, DB migrations, SQL)
• Own deployment to production and participate in production support during working hours
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Document and manage APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger
• Collaborate with other development teams and the backoffice

Requirements

• Commercial experience developing backend services in Java/Kotlin using Spring Boot/Micronaut (or similar)
• Experience with production deployment and production support
• Experience with microservices, REST, messaging, and databases (ORM, DB migrations, SQL)
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD
• Experience with semantic versioning and API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Ability to write unit and integration tests
• Office attendance: 3 days per week
• Open and transparent communication
• Banking domain knowledge is a plus
• Willingness to use AI tools in daily development (including Copilot)
