Description

Work across teams to define the technological direction for a fintech ecosystem, shaping architecture decisions, standards, and the roadmap. Design and evolve scalable distributed microservices in a cloud-native environment, improving performance, resilience, and maintainability through initiatives ranging from difficult refactoring to greenfield builds. Collaborate with Product, DevOps, Security, and Design and implement modern practices such as DevOps, automation, and AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Co-create and lead the technology direction (roadmap, architectural decisions, standards)
• Design and develop scalable cloud-native distributed systems
• Improve microservice architecture for performance, resilience, and maintainability
• Lead key technology initiatives end-to-end (concept to deployment), including hard refactors and “from scratch” projects
• Support and mentor experienced engineers; build a strong engineering culture
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, Security, and Design to deliver consistent solutions
• Implement modern practices: DevOps, automation, AI in development

Requirements

• Staff/Principal Engineer-level experience (or expert) in a cloud environment
• Strong expertise designing distributed systems at scale
• Very strong Kotlin knowledge
• Very strong Java and AWS knowledge
• Practical approach to architecture—balance solution quality with fast delivery
• Experience making key technical decisions and working cross-functionally with multiple teams
• Knowledge of modern communication/data patterns (REST, event-driven, async)
• Experience with DevOps, containerization, and application security
• Very good communication skills in English (at least B2)
• Nice to have: Node.js or TypeScript
• Nice to have: AI/automation experience in the development process
• Nice to have: background in regulated systems or environments with high quality requirements
