Description

Own the architecture, performance, and direction of the core backend platform that thousands of customers rely on. Build and maintain backend features and functionality across core modules, optimize API and application performance, and lead technical design decisions for data models and async workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain new features across core platform modules

• Optimize request loading times and overall application performance with measurable results

• Lead backend technical design decisions (data models, async workflows)

• Translate user needs into scalable, efficient backend solutions

• Run code reviews and uphold coding best practices as the codebase grows

• Maintain high quality through unit and integration testing and security practices

Requirements

• 5+ years in backend engineering with strong technical foundations

• Deep PostgreSQL and REST API knowledge (not toy projects)

• Experience owning backend architecture decisions end-to-end

• Unit and integration testing as a normal part of your workflow

• Serious understanding of web and API security best practices and industry regulatory landscape

• Exceptional communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
