AI Orchestrator Backend Developer

Description

You will build backend software for energy, ESG reporting, and cybersecurity, with real domain data and AI functions integrated into products. The role includes developing REST APIs and data processing modules while orchestrating AI agents—prompting, managing, and critically checking their outputs. Testing, code review, and ongoing improvements to authorization/authentication are part of the daily work.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services with NestJS and REST APIs (OpenAPI, modules, guards, interceptors)
• Build and optimize PostgreSQL queries and reporting/energy time-series aggregations
• Integrate external services (weather/meteorology APIs, measurements, Stripe, email, LLM APIs)
• Implement and operate AI agents as a standard part of the workflow, ensuring output validation
• Write unit and end-to-end tests and participate in team code review
• Gradually evolve authorization stack using Keycloak (OIDC) and OpenFGA
• Optionally contribute to frontend components (React/Vite/Tailwind)

Requirements

• 2+ years backend practice with Node.js and TypeScript (NestJS preferred; Express/Fastify acceptable)
• Strong PostgreSQL skills beyond ORM, including non-trivial JOIN/aggregation queries and index understanding
• Basic experience with Redis/Valkey or background job queues (BullMQ)
• Experience using AI assistants/agents: prompting, iterating, and critically validating results
• Practical use of Git, basic CI/CD, and comfort with Linux (SSH, logs)
• Ability to request help, incorporate code review feedback, and solve problems independently
• Czech or Slovak; English at least for documentation
