Description

You will help deliver new and improved products by uncovering and translating consumer beliefs, needs, and desires into critical product design features, experiential cues, and claims. The role plans and executes consumer research, defines performance targets and ranges, and helps ensure holistic technical design across products and packaging/device/regimen. You will also provide the consumer voice to inform technology innovation teams on opportunities and implications of technical choices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical products research projects (about 75%): translate consumer insights into functional benefits, design features, experiential signals, and consumer claims for upstream technologies and projects
• Determine critical technical attributes and drive innovation distinctiveness
• Support holistic technical design across product + packaging/device + regimen
• Develop technical benefit statements and core claim spaces for technologies
• Plan, execute, and analyze assigned work reliably and with quality content; share learnings and flag unexpected findings
• Build consumer understanding of category products and package/device concepts; build competence in SOPs and department methodologies
• Support consumer model development and consumer performance targets/specifications
• Build technical products research capabilities (about 20%): learn core consumer understanding and analysis techniques; model strong teamwork collaboration
• Corporate & Global R&I activities (about 5%): proactive participation in safety and quality programs for organizational capability and growth

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Anthropology, Consumer/Sensory Science, or other related field
• Demonstrated learning agility, excellence, and follow-through; embraces and initiates change; builds collaborative relationships
• High desire to learn and highly motivated
• Understanding of the scientific method/mentality for problem solving; demonstrated use in internship or undergraduate research
• Previous experience designing, conducting, and analyzing consumer research to translate beliefs and needs into critical design features and products
• Demonstrated interest in understanding consumer/people thoughts, needs, and desires (e.g., capstone or other work)
