Description
The Sickle Cell Community Liaison is responsible for coordinating patient-related activities across the community and NNI, serving as a single point of contact for patients and caregivers. The role educates patients and caregivers on disease state, available NNI products, wellness and lifestyle topics, and NNI patient services through one-on-one meetings and community events. The liaison also provides local market and community insights to internal stakeholders and supports patient advocacy and territory execution.
Responsibilities
Serve as a central point of contact for patients, caregivers, patient organizations, advocacy groups, and specialty pharmacy representatives
Engage patients and caregivers with education on disease state, NNI products (once available), wellness, lifestyle, and patient services
Promote shared decision-making and help patients take action in their own care
Provide education via one-on-one discussions, small group meetings, conferences, and community events
Understand local/state/national healthcare issues affecting the sickle cell community and align with Government Affairs
Deepen relationships with state and local advocacy organizations and non-traditional partners
Coordinate policy initiatives with Government Affairs
Build, maintain, and execute a strategic business plan to cover the territory
Plan and conduct meetings with community organizations to educate on disease state, NNI products (once available), wellness, lifestyle, and patient services
Lead planning, execution, and pull-through of speaker programs
Manage discretionary budget and optimize field travel and resource utilization
Execute activities in collaboration with leadership, legal, and compliance to meet NNI Way and regulatory/policy requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required (scientific degree preferred)
Minimum 3 years relevant experience (sickle cell healthcare, advocacy, non-profit community leadership, business-to-business sales, or pharmaceutical/specialty sales)
Spanish proficiency (fluent/high-level preferred) in oral and written communication
Travel requirement: 50–75% overnight travel; evening and weekend events
Valid driver’s license and good standing per Motor Vehicle Records points threshold
