Focus: Ground segment software for mission planning/control, communications with ground stations, and processing observational data

Description

You will co-create IT systems for the ground segment used to plan and control space missions, communicate with ground stations, and process observational data. The work includes requirements and process analysis, creating functional and technical solution concepts/specifications, and producing project documentation (e.g., aligned with ECSS standards). You will also participate in integration and testing while analyzing space technology standards and protocols such as ECSS and CCSDS.

Responsibilities

• Analyze software requirements and system processes
• Create functional and technical concepts/specifications
• Write functional and technical requirements
• Produce formal project documentation (e.g., ECSS-compliant)
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and the team on task specifications, acceptance criteria, and diagrams
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for the project team
• Participate in integration and testing of delivered solutions
• Perform functional/technical analysis of systems, protocols, and standards used in space technologies (ECSS, CCSDS, ESA)
• Co-develop technical and substantive parts of proposals

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of the space sector and ground segment concepts (TT&C, TM/TC, uplink/downlink, Mission Control Systems, Mission Planning System, Flight Dynamics System)
• Technical education or 4–5 years of university studies (space engineering/technologies, astrophysics, telecommunications, computer science, or related)
• Knowledge of methods and tools for functional/technical analysis of IT systems (specifications, modeling)
• Experience co-building IT systems in a small project team
• Willingness to grow as a system analyst and interest in the interface between business/users, systems, and technology
• Logical problem analysis and ability to see dependencies
• Ability to search for information and independently reach solutions
• English communication skills and ability to work with technical documentation
• Openness to learning new topics and building SPACE domain competence
