Description

Work in an interdisciplinary team developing software for driverless transport systems (FTS). The software controls both individual autonomous vehicles (FTF/AGV) and an overall fleet coordination system. The engineering approach emphasizes modern practices such as clear architectures, code reviews, automated tests, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements and design software architectures and interfaces
  • Develop high-performance, robust software components in modern C++ (e.g., C++17/20)
  • Implement new features and extend existing systems
  • Integrate, test, and optimize software in simulation and on real installations
  • Expand automated tests for simulation and real test environments
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external project partners
  • Actively shape the build and CI/CD environment
  • Work on vehicle software (navigation, environmental perception, driving strategies) and on centralized/decentralized fleet coordination methods
  • Contribute to areas such as navigation and localization, coordination algorithms, industrial logistics processes, and near-real-time distributed architectures

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a comparable field
  • Very strong knowledge of modern C++
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows
  • Secure use of CMake and common compilers (GCC, MSVC)
  • Understanding of software architecture, build systems, and continuous integration
  • Structured, independent, quality-oriented working style
  • Willingness to occasionally test software on-site in an industrial environment
  • Very good German and good English
  • Advantage: knowledge in FTS/robotics/automation/logistics (not required)
