Description

Senior Data Scientists drive strategic initiatives through advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning on complex internal and external datasets. In this senior role, you will merge large-scale time-series aircraft sensor data with parts and maintenance records, using machine learning, deep learning, AI, and visualization methods to maximize operational availability and improve maintenance efficiency. You will also provide technical leadership by mentoring junior data scientists and championing ethical, interpretable, and governed data science practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support data exploration, hypothesis testing, and foundational predictive analytics

  • Independently develop machine learning models for classification, regression, clustering, and time-series analysis

  • Collaborate to prepare and clean data for modeling

  • Document methodologies and contribute to reproducible research

  • Apply advanced statistical techniques to evaluate model performance and business impact

  • Work with large datasets using Python, SQL, and cloud-native platforms

  • Communicate findings through documentation and stakeholder presentations

  • Develop analytics best practices and model governance

  • Lead development of predictive models and advanced analytics workflows

  • Mentor junior data scientists and support team knowledge sharing

  • Design experiments and causal inference studies

  • Integrate models into business processes with cross-functional teams

  • Champion adherence to governance frameworks and global data science standards

  • Drive innovation across data science methodologies and tools

  • Lead cross-domain projects involving deep learning, NLP, or advanced time-series forecasting

  • Advocate for ethical AI practices and model interpretability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field/coursework

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in data science, machine learning, AI, predictive modeling, or advanced analytics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Practical experience with Python (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL, plus statistical analysis

  • Experience applying advanced statistics to evaluate model performance and business impact

  • Ability to lead data science projects and mentor junior data scientists

  • Commitment to ethical, responsible AI practices and model interpretability

  • Must be eligible to access controlled information if required by U.S. export control laws
