Senior Data Scientist

For Digital Hub Warsaw, we are looking for a Senior Data Scientist for the Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence unit within the Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform.

You will combine generative AI with classical machine learning, lead rigorous experimentation and evaluation, and communicate clear, actionable insights to stakeholders—delivering high-impact AI solutions across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Procurement, Legal, and Communications. The international team spans Poland, Germany, Spain, and India and works with LLMs and embeddings, classical ML, and optimization on a modern, cloud-native stack including Python, AWS, Azure, and Databricks.

The minimum monthly gross compensation for this role is 20,240 PLN. Final pay is determined based on objective factors such as experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility, and internal alignment. This position is eligible for variable pay components, such as performance-based bonuses, in accordance with the applicable employee group, role scope, and compensation structure.

Description

• Translate business needs into data science problems; define hypotheses, success metrics, and evaluation plans; communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
• Design, build, and evaluate GenAI solutions for enterprise data, including LLMs and AgenticAI; prompt and chain design, tool use, and lightweight agent workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, and PydanticAI.
• Build classical ML models for classification, regression, forecasting, and clustering; develop feature pipelines and explainability approaches.
• Build RAG pipelines and vector search for knowledge use cases.
• Establish rigorous evaluation through offline metrics, human-in-the-loop reviews, rubric-based GenAI assessments, groundedness and hallucination checks, and online tests such as A/B testing or interleaving.
• Implement production-ready Python code with Git-based workflows, code reviews, automated tests, documentation, and reproducibility.
• Ensure monitoring and traceability through data and feature drift checks, model and prompt versioning, cost and latency tracking, and structured logging.
• Partner with Product, Data Engineers, AI Engineers, and business stakeholders to drive adoption of production-grade AI solutions.
• Lead workshops and stakeholder demos, and communicate insights, risks, and trade-offs clearly.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Master’s or PhD degree with 5+ years in Data Science or Applied ML delivering production-impact solutions.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with expertise in pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, including embeddings, prompt engineering, tool/function calling, agent frameworks, and vector databases such as pgvector.
• Solid grounding in classical ML, including model selection, validation, and metrics such as AUC, F1, and RMSE.
• Ability to design and run offline and online tests, rubric-based GenAI evaluation, safety checks, and error analysis.
• Clear stakeholder communication, including requirements gathering, expectation setting, storytelling, and influencing decisions with data.
• Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, conduct hypothesis-driven analysis, and iterate through experimentation.
• Basic cloud proficiency in AWS and/or Azure, including storage and compute, secrets, and Databricks or Spark; awareness of CI/CD such as GitHub Actions.
• Strong engineering practices, including modular code, testing, documentation, and reproducibility.
• Data governance and privacy awareness.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
