Senior Data Analyst (Big Data & Data Modelling)

About the role

You will join an environment focused on big data analysis, data modelling, and requirements management. Responsibilities

• Conduct IT and research data analysis as well as data modelling.
• Analyze functional and non-functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and IT analysts.
• Analyze data models and ensure data compliance with business requirements.
• Work with large Big Data platforms and extensive data sets.
• Support the design and improvement of data solutions.
• Participate in requirement refinement and stakeholder discussions.
• Ensure transparency and synchronization between business and IT teams.
• Promote continuous improvement of analytical and data-related processes.

Requirements

• Experience as a Senior Data Analyst.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Practical experience with Big Data platforms and large datasets.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Impala, PySpark, and HQL.
• Skills in data modelling and data analysis.
• Experience with ETL processes and data requirements analysis.
• Knowledge of standard data models, such as Canonical Data Model.
• Ability to gather, refine, and document business and technical requirements.
• Experience collaborating with development teams, architects, and analysts.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Python, Java, or R.
• Experience with data formats such as JSON and AVRO.
• Knowledge of DB2 or Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with Jira and Bitbucket.
• Experience in the banking or financial services sector.
