Description

The VP of Technology Portfolio Management is responsible for providing portfolio management support to agile and project teams, ensuring alignment, visibility, and effective execution across the enterprise technology portfolio. The role supports EPMO service offerings (Program Epics Management, People Management & Coaching, Quality Management, Reporting, Benefits Management, and Governance of processes and standards) and helps teams translate strategic priorities into actionable, high-impact outcomes. The VP works closely with project and scrum teams, as well as business and technology stakeholders, to enable portfolio health, optimize resource utilization, and ensure alignment to enterprise goals.

Responsibilities

  • Present portfolio health to the executive team (CIO Direct) monthly
  • Identify, elevate and resolve critical portfolio insights, opportunities and gaps
  • Lead portfolio lead bi-weekly meetings for an executive audience
  • Coordinate with program managers, technology and business executives to assure OKRs are aligned within the portfolio and to enterprise goals
  • Talent management for program managers, portfolio leads, release train engineers and scrum masters
  • Develop upfront estimates of time and resource utilization through organized discovery with stakeholders
  • Manage the portfolio budget and coordinate with finance leadership to ensure funds are used efficiently
  • Arbitrate and resolve conflict within the portfolio when necessary; provide clear definition of impediments and determine when escalation is appropriate
  • Assist organizational change management and enterprise intake control in defining stakeholder-requested changes and prioritizing the best outcomes
  • Plan and manage outsourced projects and 3rd party vendors when necessary
  • Create and maintain monthly executive reporting standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing highly complex and matrixed IT programs budgets up to $25M
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing people with a proven track record of developing talent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing a portfolio of AI Agents and AI enabled products
  • Deep understanding of and ability to manage Project and Software Development Life Cycles using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies

Preferences

  • Agile or PMP certification
  • Experience monitoring and managing vendor performance
  • Experience managing requirement solution workshops
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project or similar tools
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Aha!, Confluence or similar tools
  • 4-year college degree, preferably in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications or related technical field
