Description

This role is part of Enterprise Data and focuses on overarching governance and architecture of all data across the enterprise. It leads initiatives that drive technical innovation and continuous improvement in enterprise data quality, governance, reporting, and analytics, partnering cross-functionally across business units. It creates and maintains technical documentation for enterprise data, including centralized critical business reports, and provides expert consultation to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Data Enhancement

• Leads implementation of enhancements for quality, management, and storage of enterprise data
• Improves profiling, exception reporting, and issue resolution and general fixes for the Enterprise Data Warehouse
• Builds dashboards to modernize analytics
• Assists management with special data projects

Business Support

• Enforces data policies and procedures across the enterprise
• Solicits discussion and feedback to identify areas for improvement in data management capabilities
• Completes month-end validations on reporting data to ensure quality and completeness prior to business use
• May assist in training or mentoring less experienced consultants

Business Strategy

• Facilitates strategies to develop the bank’s data management capabilities
• Assists management with a strategic roadmap to achieve planned objectives
• Works cross-functionally to mature department presence within bank business units
• Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies or trends impacting the financial service industry

Documentation

• Creates and maintains technical documentation for the Enterprise Data Warehouse
• Includes source-to-target mappings and data dictionaries
• Identifies and creates centralized business critical reports

Requirements

• Understanding of data warehousing and transformation methods
• Knowledge of data spreadsheets and databases
• Understanding of Base SAS programming, SAS Enterprise Guide, Cognos, or related programs
• Ability to write SAS programming language
• Understanding of ETL processes and lineage documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Data Management, Data Analytics
• OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Data Management, Data Analytics

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of data warehousing and transformation as well as extract, transform, and load processes
• Knowledge of technologies and trends impacting the financial service and insurance industry
• Experience in Banking, Regulatory, Data Warehouse/Data Lakes, AWS, Snowflake
• Proven track record of leading agile data product delivery using agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban
• Advanced proficiency writing complex SQL queries to perform data analysis on complex data sets
• Ability to convert complex technical findings into clear, actionable narratives for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to create dashboards using Tableau and Power BI
