Description

Lead a team of software engineers delivering end-to-end software products for millions of drivers as part of Ford Pro Intelligence, focused on connected services that optimize vehicle performance, manage charging infrastructure, and improve overall fleet operations. You will guide technical direction, ensure high-quality software delivery, and improve engineering pipeline performance for cycle time, quality, and security posture. Responsibilities span cross-functional leadership between front-end UI/UX teams and internal/external API backend teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering managers supporting software engineering teams delivering end-to-end software products from conception to production
  • Manage and grow software engineering managers and engineers with performance feedback, career coaching, and development opportunities
  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software projects to meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Lead cross-functional scope including front-end teams (UI/UX) and backend services teams (internal and external APIs)
  • Work with product, design, and engineering partners to define project requirements and priorities with customer focus
  • Manage project risks and dependencies; proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular stakeholder updates
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring teams
  • Review and provide feedback on product designs and software-focused architectures
  • Improve engineering delivery pipeline to reduce cycle time and increase quality and security posture
  • Apply advanced concepts to create innovations for complex or risky business situations
  • Develop and socialize new engineering principles and practices; provide thought leadership across organizations to eliminate silos
  • Drive continuous improvement and build a learning organization
  • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging products and technologies
  • Act as a liaison between the team and other departments within Ford Pro

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 12+ years of software development experience in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C++, Go)
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing people and managers and delivering software products to market
  • 5+ years leading teams building customer-facing, browser-based applications; strong UI/UX understanding and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue)
  • 5+ years experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • 3+ years leading teams that design, build, and scale internal and external APIs with service-oriented and microservices architectures

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Experience developing and deploying software for connected vehicles or IoT devices
  • Experience with data analytics and machine learning
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools
  • Familiarity with the automotive industry and commercial vehicle operations
