Description

Lead a global team responsible for the embedded software, firmware, and device software powering video borescope platforms. Own technical strategy and execution for embedded development programs, partner cross-functionally from concept through launch and sustainment, and define technical roadmaps and investment priorities. Success requires a strong understanding of how software, electronics, optics, mechanics, and customer experience work together in demanding industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global software engineering team developing embedded software and firmware for advanced inspection systems
• Drive execution of software development programs balancing schedule, quality, cost, and customer requirements
• Partner with product management, systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, quality, manufacturing, and service teams for concept-to-launch and sustainment
• Define technical roadmaps and investment priorities for future embedded software platform generations
• Build a culture of technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Develop engineering talent through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development
• Support customer engagements and strategic development partnerships
• Drive adoption of modern embedded software practices, automation, cybersecurity, and AI-enabled technologies where they create customer value
• Manage engineering resources, staffing plans, budgets, and software capitalization activities
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams and external development partners

Requirements

• Significant experience leading embedded software development teams delivering commercial hardware products
• Strong technical foundation in embedded software, firmware development, embedded architecture, or related engineering disciplines
• Experience delivering products that tightly integrate software, electronics, optics, sensors, and mechanical systems
• Experience operating at both strategic and technical levels to solve complex engineering challenges and guide long-term product direction
• Experience working within structured product development environments using requirements, design reviews, verification, validation, and release processes
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing engineering roadmaps, budgets, and organizational growth
• Passion for developing high-performing engineering teams
• Current work authorization in the country of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing embedded systems using C or C++
• Experience with Embedded Linux and RTOS environments, device drivers, hardware interfaces, and board bring-up
• Experience with camera systems, imaging products, optics, computer vision, image processing, or measurement technologies
• Experience leading industrial, aerospace, medical device, robotics, automation, or instrumentation products
• Experience with connected devices and cybersecurity for embedded products
• Experience with AI, machine learning, or edge analytics deployed on embedded platforms
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or related (advanced degree preferred)

Additional Notes

This position requires current work authorization in the country of employment; the employer is unable to provide work authorization sponsorship. Annual pay scale: $136,000.00 - $252,540.00 base salary (varies by location and qualifications).
