Description

As a Product Line Manager (PLM), you will be responsible for developing and executing a product line strategy that supports desired product line sales growth and profitability for the Polysilicon and Solar Wafer businesses. This includes defining what products to develop and offer, building value propositions and selling tools, assisting with forecasting, and collaborating with commercial, finance, manufacturing, planning, product technology, and engineering organizations for day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works closely with or leads a cross-functional product team (Development, Product Engineering, Applications Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, and/or Sales)
  • Develop value propositions that improve margins and enable new selling opportunities with customers
  • Develop and execute the product line planning process and identify critical annual projects
  • Work with Product Technology to develop and launch new products
  • Manage product line strategy through concept, commercialization, and lifecycle management (as appropriate from Program Management handoff)
  • Assess downstream market requirements and competitive threats
  • Monitor and manage product line P&L (revenue growth, margin improvement, profitability initiatives)
  • Create business cases for new product/special requests (including P&L and balance sheet implications) for feasibility and pricing requirements
  • Optimize inventory management by coordinating information flow among Forecasting, Sales, Manufacturing, Planning, and stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to reduce complexity and drive cost reductions in manufacturing processes (facility and customer sites as appropriate)
  • Manage product obsolescence activities to maximize end-of-lifecycle value
  • Support development of product pricing strategies
  • Define and communicate product value propositions, attributes, specifications, differentiators, and roadmaps; act as downstream subject matter expert
  • Develop and maintain sales enablement tools (positioning statements, value proposition presentations, and supporting materials)
  • Partner with Legal and Sales on contractual terms and participate in supply agreement approvals
  • Partner with Marketing Communications for external communications and product collateral (trade shows, conferences, press releases, PR, web content, social media as appropriate)

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, business strategy, commercial leadership, manufacturing business management, or related business functions
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments involving technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders

Education & Experience Preferred

  • MBA or equivalent advanced business experience
  • Experience leading/supporting product commercialization, portfolio management, pricing strategy, forecasting, and business case development
  • Experience in solar, semiconductor, advanced materials, electronics, specialty chemicals, industrial manufacturing, or related industries
  • Experience with P&L management, revenue growth initiatives, margin improvement programs, and/or strategic planning

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 20% of time within the US and internationally
