Description

We are seeking a versatile Solutions Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the physical design and development of an emerging energy infrastructure portfolio. In this role, you will bridge the gap between early customer discovery and formal engineering execution as the primary mechanical architect, translating complex customer requirements into scalable, high-quality mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with prospective clients to interpret specifications and translate ambiguous requirements into detailed mechanical specifications and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Lead technical scoping for proposals as the central mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Analyze complex system architectures and recommend optimized mechanical solutions balancing performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability
  • Design and develop 3D mechanical concepts, enclosures, frame weldments, and sheet metal assemblies using CAD and advanced simulation software (FEA/Thermal)
  • Create scalable, standardized mechanical modules that adhere to client standards, company procedures, and global safety regulations
  • Formulate and execute comprehensive test plans to qualify mechanical systems and ensure compliance in target operating environments
  • Lead formal design reviews, enforce robust modeling and documentation standards, and perform technical engineering calculations
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/DFA), collaborate with fabricators and vendors, and resolve manufacturing challenges during production runs
  • Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and technical deliverables, and mentor junior design engineers
  • Support field commissioning and iterate on designs using operational feedback/data to improve reliability and deployment speed

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, specifically within power infrastructure, smart energy, or modular equipment market segments
  • Proven track record of taking complex mechanical assemblies from initial customer concept to heavy field deployment and commercial production
  • Required education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or closely related technical field
  • Preferred: Master of Science (MS) in Engineering or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Ability to travel up to 35%

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package offered in addition to the stated salary range

Salary

  • Base Salary Range: $118K–162K (includes base salary and target short-term incentive only as stated)
