Description

The Principal Supplier Engineer provides technical leadership for the custom Connectors and Cable Assemblies category team and acts as the primary liaison for supplier escalations. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve complex and critical supplier issues, improve supplier performance, mitigate risks for supplied materials, and drive strategies that support supply chain objectives.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and process development teams to determine design, packaging, electrical testing, and mechanical requirements during new product development
  • Provide comprehensive support across new product development phases, qualification processes, and production release activities
  • Plan and manage all project phases and activities; lead engineers and cross-functional teams in qualifying and optimizing supplier processes
  • Ensure seamless integration of new products and acquisitions into the BSC supply chain, while minimizing disruptions to existing programs or customer operations
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and customer plant leaders to secure support and resources as needed
  • Partner with the category team to sustain approved suppliers, identify new suppliers when necessary, and leverage market trends to enhance category strategy and drive continuous improvement
  • Manage conflict and ambiguous situations with sensitivity and awareness; apply a solution-oriented approach to resolve issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM-related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of technical experience supporting complex mechanical or electrical systems
  • Ability to travel up to 20% globally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in medical device or a similar GMP environment
  • Experience with connectors or custom cable assemblies manufacturing
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams, influencing stakeholders, and achieving impactful results
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Proficient in statistical methods with hands-on experience using statistical analysis tools
  • Strong technical writing and reporting skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop internal and external relationships
