Description

The Global Equipment Engineering Team provides state of the art production equipment and continuous improvement of existing equipment to support corporate technical leadership. As SME for compounding and dimensioning equipment, you lead engineering, management, plant operations, and global teams while working with vendors to develop engineering specifications for new equipment or required improvements supporting the rubber mixing and dimensioning process. You will drive standardization & harmonization of production equipment and documentation across the global network, lead evaluations and problem-solving, and manage equipment projects from URS to PQ with GMP-conform documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering specification development with vendors for new equipment and required improvements.
  • Drive standardization and harmonization of production equipment and documentation across the global network.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing systems and processes with Process Engineering; identify value-added and non-value-added activities and required design challenges.
  • Stay up to date on equipment standards and trends; identify value-added improvements.
  • Understand root causes of equipment failures, propose design/component changes, and implement and validate modifications.
  • Lead systematic problem-solving activities for manufacturing plant support.
  • Coordinate/execute GMP-related validations and/or process engineering evaluations as needed.
  • Serve as technical point of contact for equipment vendors/suppliers; assign tasks and monitor deliverables including FAT, SAT, IOQ, etc.
  • Set standards using industry best practices to achieve corporate goals for Quality, Overall Efficiency, Cost Reduction, and Safety.
  • Work with global maintenance, local site engineering teams, and vendors to develop preventative and corrective maintenance procedures for reliability, safety, and performance.
  • Participate in routine network collaboration forums for continuous improvement and information sharing.
  • Lead equipment project management from URS issue to PQ using current project management practices including GMP conform documentation.
  • Research and analyze vendor proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design/application.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to follow equipment-related corporate goals.
  • Ensure equipment aligns with the latest Safety Regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or Engineering (Electrical, Control, or Industrial preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in equipment control related work.
  • Experience managing equipment projects including specification, procurement, installation and qualification.
  • Strong engineering and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven working experience in project management.
  • Ability to manage projects in a dynamic environment with minimal direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English & preferably a second language).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to drive change and think outside the box.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects in manufacturing industries.
  • Practical knowledge in GMP-related environment.
  • Experience in mixing and dimensioning of rubber.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office products, PowerBI, SolidWorks and/or other CAD systems.
