Description

As a Senior/Lead Software Engineer, you will provide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, platform innovation, and large-scale distributed systems for Salesforce’s AI Trust and Governance mission. You’ll team with engineering, product, architecture, and platform partners to design and build scalable, cloud-native services, set the technical direction, mentor engineers, and tackle complex technical challenges. The role is suited to those passionate about Core and near-Core systems, systems programming, and building highly concurrent, highly scalable, resilient systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of cutting-edge AI system functionality.
• Design new architecture to solve complex scalability problems.
• Build comprehensive functional and system-level tests for your area.
• Drive design and architecture decisions for features end-to-end.
• Investigate issues through debugging and root cause analysis to diagnose defects.
• Participate actively in release and deployment processes.
• Mentor MTS/AMTS engineers via mentorship and code/design reviews, elevating team craft.

Requirements

• BS or higher degree in Computer Science.
• 4+ years industry experience in system or database internals programming.
• 4+ years technical leadership in architecture and design of enterprise server platform or systems.
• Deep expertise with distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Experience with highly concurrent multi-threaded/multi-process data structures and design.
• A results-oriented problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to learn fast and deliver high quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment.
• Strong Java or C programming skills.
