Description

The Division of Surgery is actively recruiting a Surgical Oncologist to lead the Melanoma & Sarcoma surgery program. This is an opportunity to join a multidisciplinary cancer care, education, and discovery team.

This individual will lead the Cutaneous Oncology & Sarcoma surgical programs across all locations in Arizona and Colorado. Responsibilities include growth of the multidisciplinary program, recruitment and retention of faculty, and implementation of a robust clinical research program in collaboration with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. The successful hire will join the faculty at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix and have the opportunity for an adjunct faculty appointment from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Complex General Surgical Oncology
  • Experience in general surgical oncology with a focus in melanoma and sarcoma
  • Excellent clinical training and interest in clinical research preferred
  • Ability and desire to support a growing team and align with program needs

The center includes advanced surgical tools, the Da Vinci robotics system, and advanced treatment capabilities. Candidates should have a strong interest in further developing the cutaneous and soft-tissue surgical oncology program and practicing in collaboration with the existing multidisciplinary cancer team and teams at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
