The hospitalist team is expanding, with 1–2 openings available. The ICU is open, and procedures are not required. Intensivists, trauma, anesthesia, and emergency medicine support are available 24/7, including an in-house intensivist overnight. Hospitalists participate in rapid responses and codes. Typical patient volume: • Non-teaching: approximately 22–24 patients during a 12-hour shift • Teaching: approximately 20 patients per day, including 16 starting patients plus four admissions Dedicated teaching positions are also available. Physicians have access to broad specialty support, including Cardiology, GI, Heart & Vascular, Orthopedics, Anesthesia, General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, OB/GYN, Urology, Palliative Care, Nephrology, Cardiac Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Spine Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, and Hand Surgery. Teaching & Leadership Opportunities Physicians interested in academics can teach Internal Medicine residents, transitional year residents, and medical students. The teaching position is not initially a faculty appointment; however, strong performers may have the opportunity to pursue a core faculty position in the future. Additional involvement is available through quality, medicine, peer review, and MEC committees, as well as other leadership opportunities within the hospital.
