Your career opportunity

We’re building app.hsbc, HSBC’s new application development platform. Success depends on developers choosing to build on it. This is a hands-on Developer Relations Engineer (Platform Enablement) role focused on shipping practical assets that make the platform the path of least resistance: golden-path templates, reference implementations, automation and documentation that developers actually use.

Over the next 3–4 years, approximately 80% of bank workloads are expected to move to the platform. The role requires someone who can build, iterate and deliver at pace, stay close to developer feedback, and turn friction into fixes.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain golden-path templates and reusable patterns that accelerate onboarding and reduce variation across teams.
  • Deliver worked examples from real projects that teams can adopt directly and that also support platform adoption.
  • Improve self-service onboarding to enable scaling across the organisation without providing white-glove support to every team.
  • Run and support feedback loops, including office hours, champion networks, and Teams/email channels; turn developer pain points into shipped improvements by building fixes or driving them to the responsible team and tracking them through resolution.
  • Write and improve platform documentation. Documentation is part of the launch gate, and features are expected to ship with it.
  • Partner with product, engineering, architecture and risk/control colleagues to ensure guidance is accurate, compliant and practical.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

  • Strong hands-on engineering capability, with evidence of building and delivering templates, automation, reference implementations, onboarding assets and/or developer tooling.
  • Practical understanding of developer experience and how to make the right path the easiest path through standardisation and automation.
  • Confidence writing clear technical documentation, how-to guides and examples for large audiences.
  • Solid production mindset covering security, resilience, observability and supportability, ensuring examples and guidance are credible in a regulated environment.
  • Strong stakeholder and collaboration skills to work across multiple platform pillars and teams to achieve outcomes.

What we offer

  • Monthly gross pay range: 23,433 PLN–28,000 PLN.
  • Discretionary variable pay influenced by Group, business/function and individual performance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package covering healthcare, family-friendly leave, pension and life assurance.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Annual performance-based bonus.
  • Additional recognition-award bonuses.
  • Multisport card.
  • Private medical care.
  • Life insurance.
  • One-time home-office setup reimbursement of up to 800 PLN.
  • Corporate parties and events.
  • CSR initiatives.
  • Nursery discounts.
  • Financial support for training and education.
  • Social fund.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Free parking.
  • Additional contributions to the PPK scheme.

  • Online behavioural test for external candidates only.
  • Telephone screen for external candidates only.
