Senior Application Development Engineer

Description

The Senior Application Development Engineer establishes and implements new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The role leads application systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with multiple management teams to integrate functions, meet goals, and identify system enhancements for new products and process improvements.
• Resolve high-impact problems and projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
• Provide advanced applications programming expertise and ensure application design follows the overall architecture blueprint.
• Use advanced system-flow knowledge to develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how business areas, including architecture and infrastructure, integrate to achieve business goals.
• Analyze issues using interpretive thinking and develop innovative solutions.
• Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts; allocate work as needed.
• Assess risk in business decisions, safeguard clients and assets, and drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policy, and ethical standards. Escalate, manage, and report control issues transparently.

Recommended Qualifications

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in application development or systems analysis.
• Extensive experience in systems analysis and software application programming.
• Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
• Subject-matter expertise in at least one area of application development.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
