This is typically achieved through complex data analysis, developing insights, high-quality reusable data assets, and deploying artificial intelligence capabilities.

The team takes a customer-centric and consultative approach to develop business insights that help senior leaders answer critical questions, including:

• How to create value in the supply chain and drive operational efficiency
• How to manage supply-chain risk more effectively
• How to partner with suppliers to progress toward net zero

The Data Quality Lead is a key member of the Global Procurement Data & Analytics leadership team, responsible for the Data Quality capability aligned with data management and governance standards. The role ensures the data foundation is robust and trusted to unlock value, particularly for AI adoption.

This position is a focal point and champion for data quality, requiring trusted and productive working relationships across procurement, especially with global process owners, operations, and digital platforms. The role also collaborates closely with the Data & Architecture Office, IT, internal system owners, and external data vendors.

What you’ll do

• Own the Global Procurement Data Quality framework, including standards, critical data elements, controls, and scorecards, aligned with data governance expectations.
• Set data quality improvement priorities; coordinate delivery, track progress, and report outcomes to senior stakeholders, linking impacts to business KPIs.
• Maintain a rules library for key processes and proactively monitor data quality through dashboards and automated controls; identify issues, prioritise them, and lead root-cause analysis with process owners to agree remediation.
• Build partnerships across Procurement, Technology, and data governance to embed data quality into day-to-day operations; establish and run cross-functional working groups and provide updates via the Procurement Design Authority.
• Ensure change and transformation programmes incorporate data quality and data integrity activities in their plans, with quantitative outcomes agreed and signed off at the design stage.
• Define practical “ready for AI” criteria, including lineage, stability, and metadata, for procurement datasets and certify compliance before use in AI use cases.
• Design and oversee a Data Drift Monitoring framework to protect ML model integrity and detect model decay early.
• Act as a trusted advisor and representative for Global Procurement: lead complex problem-solving with ExCo+1 stakeholders, turn data quality reporting into action-led insights tied to operational risk and business impact, and share best practice through bank-wide data quality forums.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• 7+ years’ experience leading data quality initiatives with clearly demonstrable outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data management, and tools for documenting artefacts, such as data models, data dictionaries, and Collibra.
• Solid understanding of the data and analytics delivery lifecycle, including data modelling, SQL fluency, and familiarity with data science concepts.
• Strong analytical ability, understanding of data value, and ability to apply technology solutions to business needs.
• Resourcefulness and curiosity, with the ability to build subject-matter expertise quickly and solve complex problems creatively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deliverables, and demonstrate resilience, ownership, and accountability through resolution.
• Strong project management capability, including driving cross-functional delivery within time, cost, and quality constraints and influencing without authority.
• Confident communication and trusted-advisor skills, including the ability to negotiate, challenge constructively, and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences in a global, regulated environment.
• Data privacy awareness; GCP, QlikSense, and architecture/process mapping knowledge are preferred.
