Production/Application Support Engineer

Overview

This role focuses on managing incidents and problems, ensuring production environments are stable and operational efficiencies are improved. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT operations, especially within application support and incident management frameworks.

Rate

Up to 135 PLN/h net on B2B.

Main Responsibilities

• Own the RCA process for production incidents, diagnosing, resolving, and preventing future occurrences.
• Continuously monitor service health and manage production support.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure the stability of Pre-Production and Production environments.
• Document operational procedures and known issues to enhance knowledge management.
• Collaborate with development and platform teams to improve operational feedback loops.
• Identify pain points and propose automation strategies.
• Enhance observability through dashboards and alerts.
• Participate in service continuity initiatives and disaster recovery drills.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years in IT operations or production-facing roles.
• Proven incident ownership from alert to RCA to prevention.
• 2+ years working within an ITIL framework.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Excellent English communication skills (C1 level).
• Proficiency with Jenkins and CI/CD methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and independent investigation skills.
• Experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk and Sysdig.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Comfortable operating Kubernetes services.
• Excellent skills with Ansible and Docker.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation.

Nice to Have

• Operational experience with IBM Datastage.
• Willingness to learn Pega and Airflow.
• Experience with relational databases, including Oracle and DB2.
• Knowledge of ETL application behaviors and REST API communication.
• Experience supporting distributed systems such as Kafka.
• Java development background for understanding integrations.
