Join the Vento product team as an Engineering Manager.

Vento is an internal system for managing the lifecycle of clickstream event contracts. It provides a centralized framework for defining, validating, monitoring, routing, and consuming event data. By ensuring schema compatibility, Vento streamlines collaboration between data producers and consumers, making event-driven architecture reliable and easy to maintain. It is also a foundation for an AI and agentic ecosystem.

Your main responsibilities

• People leadership & development: Coach, mentor, and support a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of 5–6 engineers.
• Architectural & business alignment: Maintain a holistic view of platform architecture and ensure engineering solutions support the broader business context and platform goals through shared ownership.
• Technical mentorship: Guide and enable the team to integrate and use AI-assisted coding and AI-based user-support tools.
• Stakeholder partnership: Collaborate with cross-functional business partners in Marketing, Loyalty, and Sales, as well as Data Assets teams and the Data Platform Product Manager.
• Product vision & strategy: Co-create the Vento product vision with the team, users, and stakeholders; apply modern product-management guidelines to maximize value across the company.
• System sustainability: Support and participate in the team’s on-call rotation to ensure the stability and reliability of the event-processing pipeline.

This is the right job for you if

• You are an experienced engineering leader with a proven background in developing engineering teams and the technical experience to guide sound architectural decisions.
• You have broad technical understanding across data ecosystems, including Big Data (Python, Scala, Spark), Backend (Java/Kotlin), and Frontend environments.
• You enjoy supporting team deliverables while contributing to organizational initiatives shaping the data and AI ecosystem.
• You proactively share early insights, potential bottlenecks, and structural risks.
• You are fluent in Polish and speak English at a minimum B2 level.
• You are open to participating in a rotating on-call support framework.

You will create solutions used by millions of customers and work at scale with more than 1,000 microservices, an open-source data bus handling 300K+ rps, a service mesh handling 1M+ rps, tens of petabytes of data, and production machine learning.
