Join the Vento product team as an Engineering Manager.

Vento is an internal system for managing the lifecycle of clickstream event contracts. It provides a centralized framework for defining, validating, monitoring, routing, and consuming event data. By ensuring schema compatibility, Vento streamlines collaboration between data producers and consumers, making event-driven architecture reliable and easy to maintain. It also provides a foundation for the data and AI ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of 5–6 engineers, ensuring well-being and professional growth.
  • Maintain a holistic view of the technical architecture and align engineering solutions with business context and platform goals.
  • Support and guide the team in using AI-assisted coding and AI-based user support.
  • Collaborate with business consumers in Marketing, Loyalty, and Sales, as well as technical stakeholders, Data Assets teams, and the Data Platform Product Manager.
  • Lead creation of the Vento vision with the team, users, and stakeholders; apply product-management practices to maximize company value.
  • Support the team’s on-call rotation framework to ensure 24/7 stability of the event-processing pipeline.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing engineering teams and a strong hands-on engineering background.
  • Technical orientation across Big Data (Python, Scala, Spark), backend (Java/Kotlin), and frontend (Angular) environments.
  • Willingness to drive core team deliverables and contribute to company-wide initiatives, task forces, or working groups.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and escalating issues, bottlenecks, and risks.
  • Native or fluent Polish and English at a minimum B2 level.
  • Openness to join a 24/7 on-call rotation, including weekend and night standby.
