The project focuses on developing and enhancing a modular Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) SaaS platform that supports information security, risk management, business continuity, and data protection processes. It provides scalable and reliable compliance-management capabilities for public-sector organizations and large enterprises.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural decisions for the schema-driven application layer in close collaboration with the client's Product and Engineering teams.
  • Drive the ongoing concept phase, including prototyping, validating architectural approaches, documenting findings, and presenting solutions to stakeholders.
  • Define what belongs in the generic declarative layer versus module-specific implementations across the remaining 21 modules.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client; coordinate task allocation across the augmented team, lead demos, and represent the team in stakeholder meetings.
  • Review the work of Backend and Full-Stack Engineers and ensure architectural consistency across modules and the backend/frontend boundary.
  • Lead and personally deliver the most complex full-aggregate module migrations.
  • Define and drive the contract-testing strategy using golden fixtures while ensuring backward compatibility with the legacy REST API.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend engineering experience with lead experience.
  • Hands-on Lead/Tech Lead experience, including task allocation, code-review ownership, and direct client-facing communication on production projects.
  • Strong hands-on Python, Django, and DRF background.
  • Experience with JavaScript and React.
  • Experience with complex relational data modeling (ORM, FK/M2M, migrations), validation, and multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
  • Understanding of permissions, RBAC, and object-level visibility, with the ability to maintain backward compatibility in large production codebases.
  • Strong architectural judgment and the ability to make and challenge design decisions and balance generic abstractions against module-specific solutions.
  • Strong automated-testing practices using pytest, factories, contract tests, and integration tests.
  • Upper-Intermediate English or higher.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with schema-driven, metadata-driven, or dynamic-UI-generation systems.
  • Experience with React and modern frontend development.
  • Prior experience as an embedded lead in a staff-augmentation engagement.
  • GRC, compliance, or other regulated enterprise SaaS domain experience.
  • German language knowledge.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work with leaders in FinTech, Healthcare, Retail, Telecom, and other industries.
  • Opportunity to change projects and/or develop expertise in an interesting business domain.
  • Professional, financial, and career growth, with mentoring and adaptation for new employees.
  • Opportunity to earn up to an additional EUR 1,000 per month, depending on expertise level, included in the annual bonus.
  • Access to a corporate training portal with an updated knowledge base.
  • Corporate activities and amenities, including parties, pizza days, PlayStation, fruit, coffee, snacks, and movies.
  • Certification compensation for AWS, PMP, and other certifications.
  • Referral program.
  • Private health insurance and sports compensation, depending on employment type.
