DevOps Engineer (AI, GitLab)

Description

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and manage cloud, on-premises or hybrid AI infrastructure for development, training and inference, including compute, storage, networking and GPU resources.
• Build and maintain CI/CD and MLOps pipelines for code, data workflows, model training, testing, validation and deployment.
• Package, deploy and scale AI applications and services with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support machine-learning model transition from development to production, ensuring reproducibility, versioning, traceability and controlled releases.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and performance tracking for infrastructure, applications and AI model endpoints.
• Optimise infrastructure and deployment processes for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Apply security best practices for infrastructure, access management, secrets, dependencies, data protection and regulatory compliance.
• Standardise development, test and production environments using Infrastructure as Code and configuration-management tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, software developers, cybersecurity specialists and business teams.
• Support dataset and model versioning, auditability, lineage, backup, recovery and lifecycle management.
• Investigate incidents, deployment issues and performance bottlenecks; continuously improve automation, resilience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Must-have requirements:

• Advanced (5+ years) experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise (3+ years) with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Good knowledge of Data Science and Machine Learning principles and AI frameworks such as Haystack and LangChain.
• Expertise with AWS or Azure cloud services.
• Terraform proficiency for Infrastructure as Code.
• Python proficiency and experience with Git, GitLab, Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with CI/CD monitoring and observability, including structured logging and metrics collection with tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Familiarity with database management systems such as PostgreSQL and search engines such as Elasticsearch.
• EU citizenship.
• Fluent English at B2/C1 level.
• Openness to occasional business trips abroad and visits to the Katowice office.
