👉 Senior Backend Engineer (PHP/Python)

You will be

• Developing and maintaining business-critical platforms supporting commercial and financial operations
• Building and enhancing backend solutions using PHP and Python
• Developing REST APIs and integrations with external data sources
• Designing and maintaining data import, transformation, and processing pipelines
• Working with PostgreSQL and SQL to support application functionality and data processing
• Contributing to the development of the Data Collection Platform, including API integrations and web scraping
• Collaborating closely with Commercial, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions
• Participating in an Agile environment with 2-week sprints and quarterly planning cycles
• Contributing to code quality, architecture, and continuous improvement of the platforms

Your profile

• Strong commercial experience in backend development, including PHP and Python
• Very good practical knowledge of Symfony
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and system integrations
• Practical experience with data imports, transformations, or processing pipelines
• Understanding of software architecture and backend design principles
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery
• Ability to understand business requirements and proactively propose technical improvements
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ownership mindset and ability to work independently
• Good command of English
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with Snowflake or other analytics platforms
• Experience with AWS
• Hands-on experience with web scraping solutions
• Experience working with business intelligence or data analytics environments
• Basic frontend development skills with JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS
• Experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work
• Interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches
