Data Engineer

Mid • On-site

168,000 - 234,000 PLN/yr

Gdansk, PM, Poland

We’ve outgrown the Windows-locked black box of Power BI. We’re building a high-performance, open-source analytics platform on strong on-prem infrastructure: a stack built on ClickHouse, Cube.js, and Apache Superset. First architectural decisions are made and we’re already in the testing phase.

We’re looking for a code-driven Data Engineer who lives and breathes data modeling and semantic layer design to help translate our existing Power BI logic into this modern, transparent, scalable stack. You’ll work with real systems and data, at scale, alongside experienced platform engineers.

The position is available from 1st October 2026.

Salary

  • 11,600–16,250 PLN gross/month
  • 80–120 PLN net/hour on B2B
  • 14,000–19,500 PLN net/month on B2B

Quick Facts

  • Design and implement the semantic layer to serve as the “single source of truth” for internal and customer BI.
  • Translate legacy Power BI reports and business logic into the new technology stack.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize robust ELT pipelines.
  • Ensure high performance and query optimization across data models.

Requirements

  • Strong data modeling: layered models, business metrics, clean semantic layers.
  • Advanced SQL: ingestion, complex manipulation, query optimization.
  • Python (or another backend language) and a solid Git-based workflow.
  • ELT experience: robust pipelines, multi-source integration, Change Data Capture (CDC).
  • Hands-on experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
  • A configuration-as-code mindset.
  • Clear communicator, comfortable with hybrid work, English B2/C1.

Preferred

  • BI migration experience (Power BI / SSIS to an open-source stack).
  • Cube.js, ClickHouse, or Apache Superset.
  • Docker.
  • A sharing mindset and openness to putting engineering work out in the world.

AI-First Mindset

We encourage AI-assisted engineering and provide access to assistants such as GitHub Copilot and Claude. As an infrastructure company self-hosting open-source models, we also offer the opportunity to see how AI works behind the scenes on real hardware and at scale.

Benefits

  • Scandinavian work style and international environment.
  • Full-time employment agreement or B2B contract.
  • Flexible work hours and hybrid work (1 office day).
  • 28 paid days off for a B2B contract.
  • 3,000 PLN yearly training budget and Pluralsight access.
  • Sport package, private health care, and life insurance.
  • Recommendation bonus and car parking.
