Project

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a team developing modern software solutions for the energy and smart building industry. You will be part of a team building cloud-native, data-intensive platforms responsible for ingesting, processing, and serving large volumes of real-time and historical data. Your work will focus on designing and operating reliable data pipelines, stream processing solutions, and time-series data platforms that support analytics, machine learning, and operational insights.

Expected competences and knowledge

  • Minimum 4 years of commercial experience building and operating production data pipelines in Python
  • Strong practical knowledge of SQL
  • Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Mage, including backfills, historical reprocessing, retries, dependency management, and monitoring
  • Experience with stream processing technologies such as Kafka, Faust, Flink, NATS, or similar
  • Experience working with time-series data and production time-series databases such as TimescaleDB, GreptimeDB, or InfluxDB
  • Understanding of common time-series data challenges, including missing data, sensor drift, clock skew, late-arriving events, and inconsistent units
  • Experience implementing data quality checks as part of production data pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD
  • English proficiency at a minimum B2 level
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a cross-functional engineering team

Nice to have

  • Experience with Azure (preferred) or GCP
  • Knowledge of Redis and Kubernetes
  • Experience ingesting weather forecast or electricity market data
  • Background in Energy, Utilities, Industrial IoT, or OT/SCADA
  • Experience building data platforms for Data Science teams, with an understanding of reproducibility and train/serve consistency
