Digital Commerce Solution Architecture Manager

Digital Commerce designs, develops and scales IT solutions that serve customers across the Route-to-Consumer ecosystem. The team delivers digital products that support revenue and elevate customer experience.

Description

We are seeking an experienced Digital Commerce Solution Architecture Manager to lead a team of approximately 10 solution architects shaping the digital commerce ecosystem. You will bridge business ambition with technical reality, ensuring business requirements translate into robust, scalable solutions that can be delivered within time and budget constraints. This role reports directly to the Senior Director Global Digital Commerce.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of approximately 10 solution architects supporting enterprise-wide digital commerce initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on innovation and excellence.
  • Manage resource allocation across programs, deploying architects based on skills and program needs.
  • Conduct performance reviews, career development planning and skills assessments.
  • Build and maintain solution architecture standards, best practices and methodologies.

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Oversee logical and conceptual solution designs across the digital commerce portfolio, including B2B eCommerce platforms, Sales Force Automation tooling, customer and distributor portals, customer service applications, marketing technology and brand sites, digital payments infrastructure, loyalty programs, and pricing and promotions engines.
  • Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture standards and technology strategy.
  • Review and approve complex solution architecture proposals, guiding technical approaches and design patterns.
  • Identify opportunities for platform consolidation, reuse and standardisation across the portfolio.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable value.
  • Work with Engineering leadership to ensure solutions are feasible, within budget and aligned with development capacity.
  • Collaborate with Program/Project Management to define realistic timelines and identify technical dependencies.
  • Engage with Enterprise Architecture to align with broader technology roadmaps and standards.
  • Facilitate architecture review boards and technical governance processes.

Strategic Planning & Delivery

  • Contribute to the digital commerce technology strategy and multi-year roadmap.
  • Identify technical risks and dependencies early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement in solution architecture practices and delivery methodologies.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging digital commerce technologies.
  • Balance innovation with pragmatism to deliver forward-thinking, feasible solutions.

Technology Stack

Mandatory

  • Diagramming using LeanIX, Visio or Lucid.
  • Cloud-based architecture design in Azure, AWS or GCP; deep Azure experience preferred.
  • Distributed computing fundamentals.
  • Monolithic and composable architectures.

Good to know

  • OpenAPI.
  • Microsoft Dynamics CE and F&O.
  • Salesforce.
  • Other B2B or D2C eCommerce platforms.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of solution architecture experience, including at least 5 years in digital commerce or related domains.
  • 3+ years of people management experience leading technical teams.
  • Proven delivery of complex, multi-workstream digital commerce programs.
  • Experience in matrix organisations and stakeholder management across multiple functions.
  • Experience in consumer-packaged goods or another international consumer goods organisation.
  • Experience in consumer goods, retail or manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of headless commerce and composable architecture approaches.
  • Understanding of data architecture, master data management and customer data platforms.
  • Experience managing distributed or global teams.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Krakow, Poland.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF or Zachman, or cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or GCP.
