Product Designer – Internal Tools

About the role

You’ll be the solo Product Designer on internal tools—from claims platforms and underwriting AI to agent portals and beyond. The work is dense and complex, and every improvement is felt by people doing real jobs. You’ll design for the moment AI hands off to a human.

You’ll join a team of approximately 9 people with weekly critiques, a clear growth path, and enough structure to keep work moving.

What will you do?

• Design intuitive, accessible internal tools used every day.
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineers from discovery onward—define problems, explore solutions, and ship features that improve operational metrics such as handle time, error rates, and throughput.
• Run user interviews, shadow sessions, and lightweight feedback loops with tool users.
• Sketch, wireframe, and prototype at the appropriate fidelity; Figma and LLMs are used daily.
• Facilitate conversations that align product, design, and engineering.
• Share process, early ideas, and mistakes openly; participate in design critiques and use feedback to improve work.

We might be a match if you…

• Have 3+ years of shipping production work and a portfolio showing your process, data, and impact.
• Know Figma well, including components, variables, auto-layout, and prototyping.
• Are comfortable with data-dense, workflow-heavy interfaces, including tables, filters, dashboards, multi-step flows, and power-user shortcuts.
• Use LLMs as part of your design toolkit for research synthesis, drafting, prototyping, and writing.
• Can run a project independently, with Staff Designer support when needed.
• Take initiative, challenge vague briefs, and suggest improvements.
• Are fluent in English and available in the afternoons 2–3 days a week, with occasional evening calls for US time zones.
• Participate actively in calls, team events, and Slack communication.
• Have a clear design process, can defend ideas constructively, and give and receive feedback honestly.

You’ll get extra points for

• Experience with internal tools or operations-heavy products, such as admin panels, agent consoles, claims tools, or CRMs.
• Experience designing AI-powered features, including chatbots, agent assistance, AI-driven workflows, and LLM-in-the-loop interfaces.
• Knowledge of, or genuine curiosity about, US home insurance, claims, or insurance operations.
• Experience working with US stakeholders and related time-zone coordination.

Recruitment process

• Meet with the Director of Design and Staff Designer.
• Attend a final-stage meeting.
