We are hiring a Lead UX Designer for an enterprise AI company building a platform that lets AI agents work reliably inside complex business environments. This is a senior individual-contributor leadership role focused on AI experiences: you set the design bar for the whole product and mentor other designers. You report to product leadership and partner closely with engineering.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in a product design role, with a portfolio that proves your craft on difficult screens: empty states, loading, errors, and edge cases, not just the clean happy path
  • Ability to explain what makes a design work across layout, type, interaction, density, and motion
  • Product instinct that catches broken flows, lazy defaults, and clutter, and ties every design choice back to user and business needs
  • Background in dense, data-rich, or enterprise tools, not only consumer apps or marketing pages
  • Proven ability to make hard, technical products feel easy through onboarding, gradual reveal of complexity, and hooks that get people to their first win fast
  • Structural mindset, including creating or growing a real design system and thinking in terms of consistency and information architecture at scale
  • Evidence-led practice, with decisions based on real user behavior and examples of designs changed after reviewing data
  • Team-first, delivery-focused approach; close collaboration with engineers and product managers; honest critique
  • A design process already wired around AI tools day-to-day
  • Plain, clear spoken and written communication

Nice to Have

  • Prior work on AI or agentic products, including copilots, chat and its successors, retrieval with cited sources, knowledge graphs, or similar systems
  • Ability to build working prototypes in code or with current prototyping and AI tools
  • History of steering design direction and coaching peers, even without direct reports
  • Knowledge of enterprise and B2B SaaS constraints, including access controls, audit trails, scale, and operational-user workflows

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design craft bar for the core product, covering visual quality, interaction quality, and consistency across the product
  • Design trustworthy interfaces for complex AI and agentic systems, including streaming responses, uncertainty, confidence and sources, agent actions, error and recovery, and human-in-the-loop control
  • Turn ambiguous product problems into clear flows, prototypes, and shipped experiences
  • Make complex technical capabilities accessible to non-technical business users and design onboarding that gets them to value quickly
  • Apply engagement and light gamification deliberately to keep the product approachable and rewarding to use
  • Build and extend the design system so the product stays coherent and the team ships faster
  • Ground design decisions in real user understanding through research, usability testing, and direct customer contact
  • Partner closely with product and engineering from problem framing through production so what ships matches the intent
  • Mentor other designers and raise the craft bar across the team through critique and example
  • Drive an AI-native design workflow, using AI across exploration, prototyping, content, and research synthesis while maintaining a high verification bar
