About this opportunity

Join the development of 5G User Plane Control (UPC) software within the baseband scheduler department. The RAN Performance organization systemizes, designs, implements, and tests 5G software features and is building a Layer 2/Scheduler section focused on 5G.

As a technical leader, you will work with the 5G UPC product and support the long-term evolution of the Baseband software product.

What you will do

  • Support teams in developing new features for 5G RAN
  • Work with UPC software architecture changes to prepare for the feature roadmap
  • Review design solutions prior to implementation
  • Participate in and approve strategic and complex code reviews
  • Define and maintain product development strategy and architecture integrity
  • Improve the general quality of the Scheduler
  • Drive domain-, module-, submodule-, and function-level test strategy
  • Maintain, define, and prioritize the UPC domain care backlog
  • Participate in and support system studies
  • Support longer-term prototyping and architecture initiatives

The skills you bring

  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of C/C++ programming
  • At least 5 years of experience developing real-time embedded systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • General programming skills, for example Python, are an advantage
  • Knowledge of 5G and LTE (4G) standards (3GPP) is an advantage
  • Clean-code programming style and mindset
  • Experience defining product architecture or complex implementation proposals is appreciated
  • Experience with AI-powered developer tools, such as AI code assistants, automated code review, and AI-driven testing or debugging tools, in a daily software development workflow
  • MSc/BSc degree in a technical subject area, or equivalent knowledge
  • Keen interest in the long-term evolution and success of the Baseband software product
