About this opportunity
The Simulation Services (SIMS) unit provides simulators for product development within Business Area Networks. These simulators are used in product verification instead of real mobile phones and real core networks. SIMS develops internal simulator solutions, including the main simulator CSIM FsUE NR, and sources simulators from external vendors.
A newly created team will prepare for the development of a powerful UE Simulator meeting 6G needs and will later become the core team for development of the 6G UE simulator.
What you will do
- Be part of an agile team contributing to Layer 2 development of a UE Simulator
- Support internal users with an important product for 6G
- Drive innovation and turn new insights into reality
- Work across analysis, system design, pre-development and implementation in small increments, with short feedback loops
You will bring
- MSc or BSc level, or final-semester studies, in Telecommunications, Electronics or IT
- Entry-level knowledge of embedded programming, ideally in the telecom sector
- Proven software engineering skills and the ability to write high-quality code, such as C++ and Python
- Knowledge of DPDK
- Good spoken and written English
The following are a plus:
- Knowledge of multithreading and parallel processing
- Understanding of Layer 2 protocols, including Medium Access Control (MAC), Logical Link Control (LLC) and Radio Link Control (RLC)
